Mr Tapsell opened the store in 1961 with an aim to supply the highest quality products with a service second to no one.

We come from a long line of carpet retailers both Mr Tapsell's father and grandfather also sold carpets for a living having monthly day sales in many halls around the north of England. In 1961 Mr Tapsell decided that due to starting a family and the advent of the fitted carpet (before most carpets were really just large rugs) it was time to open a shop and not only sell carpets but offer professional fitting too.

Today, more than 50 years on, our shop is run by Mr Tapsell’s son and grandson. We still follow the same ethos to offer the best quality, best value products on the market with a fitting and after sales service that is second to none!
